Japan is the birthplace of the globally recognized Suzuki automobile. Established in 1909 in the coastal town of Hamamatsu on the main island of Honshu, Suzuki Motor Corporation arrived in India in 1981 to manufacture automobiles.

Maruti Udyog Limited, the premier company in South Asia, is collaborating with the Japanese company to produce the 'Maruti Suzuki' vehicle.

The "return journey" began after nearly 43 years. The production and export of automobiles, particularly 'Suzuki', primarily drive Japan's economy.

On Wednesday, Japanese media outlet Nippon.com reported that Maruti Suzuki India's Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) 'Fronx' is exceedingly popular worldwide, including in India. The model that is currently available in Japan is appropriate for the snow-covered roads of the country.

The four-wheeler of this model is exclusively available in the Japanese market. Engineers specifically designed its fuel system and tires to ensure a comfortable ride.

The report also mentioned that this vehicle can fit in tight spaces and navigate narrow lanes.

Indian media The Economic Times reported in August of last year that the initial shipment of 1600 'Fronx' had departed the port of Gujarat for Japan, citing Suzuki.

In collaboration with Suzuki of Japan, Maruti-Suzuki initiated its initial production in Gurgaon, Haryana, in 1982. Suzuki held a 26 percent stake in this joint venture. The Government of India possessed the majority of the shares. However, the Japanese organization acquired shares progressively. In 2007, Suzuki Motor Corporation acquired all its shares.
